Arawak Mas Band was founded in 1999 by Lynda Joseph and built on a foundation of Trinidadian roots and the Caribbean's creative expression. The band took its name from the indigenous peoples of the Greater Antilles of the Caribbean.
The band’s mission has always been to celebrate unity through music and art, and with over 20 years of experience, it has grown into a fully established Mas Band. Expanding globally to Trinidad, Portugal, and the Netherlands. However, our hearts and home remain in the United Kingdom, where we proudly participate in Notting Hill Carnival.
At Arawak, we are more than just a band; we are a family! We are a vibrant community of passionate and dedicated people. We devote our efforts to stunning costume designs, world-class entertainment, a high-quality sound system, and an all-inclusive Carnival experience to life. Whether you don one of our elaborate costumes or join the high-energy T-shirt Army, you’ll be part of an experience like no other.
Most importantly, everyone is welcome. Whether you’re new to Carnival or a seasoned fetter, you’ll feel right at home with us. We can’t wait to party with you. Welcome to Arawak Carnivals.
